Landfill Diversion

The carbonization of waste biomass and biosolids typically reduces the volume of the feedstock by 75 to 90 percent, making it possible to achieve complete landfill diversion.

It is well known that landfill can generate significant greenhouse gas emissions. As governments seek to encourage waste reduction solutions, landfill levy payments have increased.

Waste Pyramid Hierarchy

The hierarchy of waste management places resource recovery as preferred over landfilling, and indeed over incineration. Pyrocal CCT systems allow the recovery of resources from waste in the form of biochar, energy and water. Our system sequesters carbon from residual waste rather than releasing the carbon into the atmosphere as a greenhouse gas.
